The horizontal axis (→) corresponds to manufacturing's share in the GDP in a given year while the vertical axis (↑) corresponds manufacturing's share of employment in the state. Larger bubbles correspond to manufacturing's GDP amount in a given year. The bubbles and map are color-coded based on regions assigned by the Bureau of Economic Analysis.
